OMHA Renames Categories

SUBJECT: RENAMING OF CATEGORIES B AND BELOW...

The Ontario Minor Hockey Association continues to review, assess, and implement programming and programming models in order to meet the ongoing needs of our members.

 

The Board of Directors of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association have confirmed the following regarding Representative programming below A:

 

Effective the 2024-25 season, all C and D Base Category Centres will be re-classified to B Base Category.

 

Any entry of a team below A from a AAA, AA or A Base Category Centre be classified as B.

 

The OMHA shall determine tiering for B and below prior to league playoffs.

 

In addition, a reminder that Non-Body Checking Representative hockey will continue to be available at U14 through U18 and classified as BB (per OMHA Bulletin 230308-037-I - Non-Body Checking Representative Category). BB is only available at the U14-U18 divisions.
