The purpose of Checking Clinics in OMHA-sanctioned hockey is to ensure that players entering a division where body checking is permitted (typically at U14 rep level and above) have some formal instruction in safe checking techniques before participating in regular season games or tryouts.
This instruction focuses on:
- Teaching safe body contact and checking technique
- Building confidence and positional awareness
- Emphasizing safety and proper skill progression
- Distinguishing between incidental contact and legal body checking

Reminder to register for the Division you will be playing in next season - 2026-2027.
Only players previously registered (on a 2025-26 Roster) in Haldimand Minor Hockey (including Local centres) are allowed. This is an OHF rule.
Register early to guarantee your spot as registration for Checking Clinics will close Wednesday April 1st at 10PM or sooner if the sessions are full.
