As any association grows and evolves
there are always going to be things that need to be changed or updated to suit
the current environment
This coming season will transition
to the following locations for each team. Each arena will still have the same
number of teams:

The decision to move some teams was
not made lightly as we know it will be an adjustment for many families.
Many
things have changed since the first year we amalgamated and while we originally
made a commitment to avoid changing home arenas for teams, it was made before
we knew what ice we would be able to get. After a review of the past 2 seasons,
it became apparent to the Board that
we should revisit the location of where each team should play.
We opted to prioritize fitting our
teams to age-appropriate ice times we have, as opposed to trying to maintain
the original locations of each team.
We have had some teams unable to AP
players from other teams due to conflicting game days/times. This reshuffle
will allow us to avoid any conflicts between AP teams on home ice going forward.
This
change will also allow us to be fiscally responsible and save money on referee
mileage by eliminating most single games in multiple arenas and put teams
needing similar officiating crews together. Over the course of this past season this has added up to a
significant amount that could be better utilized elsewhere.
We hope everyone will understand these significant issues and the reasons for the changes.
