The U18A River Kings won the Silverstick Regional Tournaments this past week in Petrolia. ...
After dropping, the first game 2-0 to St. Thomas, the team found their groove in a 6-2 over Orangeville. This set them up for a rematch with St. Thomas. The team played their best game of the season, shutting down the Stars in every facet of the game, coming away with a 2-0 win. The win put them into the finals against the London Jr. Mustangs. While the game was hard fought, they dominated on the ice and closed out the tournament with a 4-1 win. After dropping the first game, our Kings ended up with the most goals for, and least goals against in the A division. The team brought home the green banner and an award for the most defensive team in the tournament, giving up the fewest goals of all 3 divisions.
Now, they are off to the International Finals in Sarnia, Jan 13-15.
